Brief Profile Expand

EUROGATE is a European container terminal and logistics group.  Jointly with Contship Italia, the group operate sea terminals on the North Sea, in the Mediterranean region and in the Atlantic, with connections to the hinterland of Europe.  Along with container handling, EUROGATE offers a full range of 'box'-related operations, from cargo-modal services, to container-depot services, container servicing and container repair.  The group also provide intermodal transport and logistics management, solutions for IT logistics, and specialised engineering services.

EUROGATE was created in 1999,  when Hamburg EUROKAI Group with revenues of €582.3m (€542.7m 2005) and net profit of €36.9m in 2006 (€116.7m 2005), joined with BLG Logistics Group of Bremerhaven to form a joint company merging the container business of the two firms. 

The company's head office was established in Bremen.  Since then EUROGATE has rapidly expanded with nine terminal locations.

In 2008, it reached handling figures of 14.2m TEUs a year, while its revenues were €711m.
