Brief Profile Expand

Green Cargo is Sweden's largest logistics and transport Group. It was formerly known as SJ Freight, part of the Swedish railways. It was spun off into an independent company in 2000 and changed its name to Green Cargo. The company has developed into a provider of national and international freight and logistics solutions.

The vast majority of goods transported by the company are carried on electrically powered trains and Green Cargo's entire operations carry the Good Environmental Choice label. As far as possible the company transports goods by rail and uses road transportation in order to delivery goods to the final destination.

Besides railway freight transportation, the company also offers distribution by truck and third-party logistic solutions. Green Cargo is owned by the Swedish government.

In 2010 the company had revenues of SEK6.2bn.
