In December 2006 ANC was acquired by FedEx for £120m (€180m/US$240). The deal is a big step in the integrator's plan to expand beyond the US. FedEx has publicly put its face against entering the logistics sector, so it remains to be seen what will happen to ANC's contract logistics business.

ANC provides UK, European and global express delivery services. Established in 1981, ANC Group now has more than 4000 employees and a fleet of 2200 vehicles, operating from 105 locations.

ANC Worldwide collection and delivery services are handled by a range of international partners.

The company moved over 21.4 million packages in 2004 and generated revenues in excess of £100 million. ANC is the largest franchised express parcel carrier in the UK and currently has 60 franchisees.
