Bibby Distribution is part of the Bibby Group of companies, a family owned business; Bibby Line Group is a business-to-business services group involved in ship owning and operation, shallow water accommodation, offshore oil field services, contract logistics, financial services, memorial parks and employment law and health & safety advisory services.

Bibby Distribution is a warehousing and contract distribution operator based in the UK.  It employs 2,500 people at more than 70 locations in the UK with over 750 vehicles and several million square feet of warehouse space.  It provides a range of logistics services operating dedicated and shared use solutions, freight forwarding and other added value services for national and multi-national customers.

It is a member of the Logistics World Alliance, an agreement between six European Logistics companies.  The other five members are Azkar in Spain, Geis Group in Germany, Log Service Europe in Italy, MGF Logistique in France and Aditro Logistics in the Nordic regions.

In 2008 the company had revenues of £180.04m.

History 

The Group had its beginnings in the shipping industry and can trace its origins back to 1807. The distribution business was developed in the mid-1980s when a shipping recession saw the need for the company to diversify. In 1985 Bibby Line took a stake in Nisaway, the warehousing and distribution contractor to Nisa, a UK based grocery buying consortium.
