Brief Profile
Based in Germany, Deutsche Bahn AG (Deustche Bahn Group, DB Group or just DB) is a global transport and logistics provider. It divides its operations into nine business units that are organised into three divisions of Transport and Logistics, Passenger Transport and Infrastructure.
The Transport and Logistics division has two business units, DB Schenker Logistics and DB Schenker Rail. While DB Schenker Logistics performs global logistics operations (air and sea freight forwarding, contract logistics and European road transport), DB Schenker Rail offers rail freight transport throughout Europe.
The Passenger Transport division is responsible for local and regional rail transport in Germany, long distance and cross border rail transport in Germany and regional transport based in other European countries (rail, bus and ferry).
The Infrastructure division is responsible for the management of the German rail network, including its track, stations and energy supply.
In 2011, it had revenues of €37.9bn.
