July - the two new entities: Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) and Changi Airport Group have been formed from Changi's airport operations and restructuring of CAAS.  

The new CAAS has been created to focus on the development of the air hub and aviation industry in Singapore as a whole, as well as on providing air navigation services.

Changi Airport Group has been formed to manage and operate Changi and Seletar Airport and develop Singapore as a leading global air hub. It will also provide airport development and management for airports across the world through its subsidiary Changi Airports International.

The Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) owned and operated both Seletar Airport (XSP) and Singapore Changi Airport (SIN), the home base of Singapore Airlines, and Singapore Airlines Cargo. 

CAAS was a statutory board under the Ministry of Transport, responsible for regulating civilian air traffic within the airspace jurisdiction of the republic. 
 
CAAS was organised into 13 divisions, the Singapore Aviation Academy and Changi Airport Managers and Partners (Singapore). Each division facilitated the operation of the Singapore Changi Airport and Seletar Airport. CAAS also operated the CAAS Air Traffic Control Service.

CAAS earned S$6.6m in revenues in FY2009/10.
