Brief Profile
The Air France-KLM Group was created in 2004 as a holding company with two subsidiary companies: Air France and KLM, which have retained their own identites. The group operates through three core businesses; passenger, cargo and maintenance. Its main activities are organised around hub airports at Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Amsterdam Schiphol.
Air France-KLM reported overall revenues of €23.97bn in 2007. Freight transport generates 12% of the group's total revenues.
It is one of the world's largest cargo operators in terms of revenue per ton-km, transporting 1.46m t of cargo to 248 destinations in 104 countries.
The subsidiary companies are both involved in the SkyTeam Alliance, established in 2000, together with eight other full members and three associate members.
