Los Angeles World Airports is a self-supporting branch of the City of Los Angeles, it owns and operates four airports in the region. These are Los Angeles International (LAX), LA/Ontario International (ONT), Van Nuys (VNY) and LA/Palmdale Regional (PMD). However, PMD is not certified by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
