Brief Profile
Caile Ferate Romane (Romanian Railways) is the national rail operator in Romania.
It is divided into three areas;
- Infrastructure (CFR)
- Passenger (CFR Cãlãtori)
- Freight (CFR Marfa)
CFR is the national infrastructure manager responsible for the public rail infrastructure. Its main offering is access to the rail infrastructure for the Train Operating Companies. CFR Cãlãtori (passenger transport) and CFR Marfa (freight transport) are the national Train Operating Companies.
CFR Marfa provides rail freight services for industries including: coal, oil, chemicals, ore, metal, building materials, wood, cars, military and agriculture.
In 2009, CFR Marfa had revenues of RON1,108.6m.
