Freightliner Group Limited is the parent company of Freightliner Ltd, Heavy Haul, Logico, Freightliner Maintenance, Freightliner PL and Freightliner Australia.
The groups core activity, operated through its subsidiary companies is the movement of freight by rail, ranging from the rail haulage of commodities such as agreggates and coal to the Logico operation formed in response to demand from freight forwarders, road hauliers and manufacturers for a rail-based logistic service.
In 2008 the company was acquired by Arcapita, an international investment firm based in Bahrain. The purpose of the acquisition was to ensure that Freightliner could continue to invest in and develop its intermodal and heavy haul businesses and enhance its international activities
