Brief Profile
BLG was established by merchants at the Port of Bremen to undertake port and warehousing activities. The company was nationalised but was privatised early in 2006. It is a holding group for a number of independent companies which perform a range of logistics functions including the largest container terminal network in Europe.
The automotive sector is of particular focus for the port and for BLG although the Group has diversified into general contract logistics by acquisition.
BLG also provides services to the hi-tech, perishable food and general industrial markets. Its services include inbound logistics, value added services and final delivery of goods to customers' facilities.
In 2008 BLG enjoyed revenues of over €962.6m.
