Al-Futtaim Exel was the result of a joint venture between Al-Futtaim and Exel (acquired by DPWN).  The company, (a member of the Al-Futtaim Group), started as a small warehouse for Al-Futtaim products about 25 years ago, and has developed into one of the largest logistics service providers in the UAE.

Al-Futtaim Exel offerred pan-Arab supply chain management solutions including warehousing and distribution, international freight forwarding by sea and air, as well as overland road transportation.

The company had an international network of offices and agents for overseas freight and warehousing, and distribution centres in all major UAE cities and ports.

The joint venture was originally established between the Al-Futtaim Group and Tibbett and Britten (acquired by Exel in 2004).
