October - European supply chain provider Wincanton acquired Lane Group plc, a UK market leader in home delivery. The acquisition allowed Wincanton to strengthen its position within the fast growing home delivery market. 

Wincanton's existing home delivery customers such as B&Q and Comet are added to by Lane's customer base which includes brands and retailers Homebase, Magnet, Electrolux and Bosch. 


The Lane Group is a mid-sized UK distribution and warehousing company providing UK companies with national and, more recently, international transport solutions.  Via a number of subsidiaries, the company is also active in the UK home delivery sector as well as the provision of logistics solutions.

As part of the company's distribution contract with The Body Shop, Lane Group plc has introduced a shared user delivery service to its stores throughout Germany. The company has partnered with local distribution specialists Offergeld.
