August - Federal District Judge Gerard E. Lynch of the Southern District of New York, appointed a Receiver over the operations of Universal Express, Inc. and its subsidiaries.
Universal Express, Inc. (USXP), incorporated on April 6, 1983, is an integrated business-to-business service company focused on the private postal and international shipping industries. Universal Express Logistics joins the Company's Luggage Express service offered through UniversalPost and its Internet-based Virtual Bellhop luggage pickup and delivery service.
Universal Express Capital is an asset-based transportation/equipment leasing company. Its Universal Cash Express division provides stored value cards to consumers. Universal Express Properties concentrates on commercial property acquisitions.
