Takkyubin (door-to-door parcel delivery) service, launched in 1976, is the company's core business. Covering almost all of Japan, this business handled over 1.2bn parcels during 2008.
Yamato has operations in Japan, Asia, North America and Europe.
In 2008 it had revenues of ¥1251.9bn.
