Brief Profile
Ceske Drahy Group (CD Group) provides railway transport services including operation and maintenance of nation-wide railway lines, passenger and freight transport and other activities such as railway research, testing, telematics, accommodation and catering.
Ceske Drahy a.s. (CD) was formed in 2002 as the successor of the state enterprise Ceske Drahy s.o. and it is main company of the CD Group. It is the national railway transport operator in the Czech Republic. Due to the volume of passengers and the extent of the railroad lines, CD ranks among the 10 main railroad companies in the European Union.
CD Cargo a.s. (CDC) is a subsidiary of CD, which provides transportation of industrial and agricultural products, raw materials, fuels, goods, containers and oversize loads as well as rental of cargo wagons, rail siding services and other transport services. In 2009, CD's total revenues were CZK44.28bn, of which CZK11.55bn were generated by CD Cargo.
