Note: In 2009 Schier, Otten & Co. Gesellschaft m.b.H, merged to form Express Interfracht Internationale Spedition GmbH, a subsidiary of the Rail Cargo Austria Group.
The carrier Schier, Otten & Co was founded in 1924 by Karl Schier.  In 1941 the company split from the German firm by the same name, which has meanwhile ceased to exist.  In1951Mathilde Mihokovic, the founder's daughter, became the sole owner.

In 1978Dr.ErichMihokovictook over as manager fromKommerzialrat Dr.ErnstMihokovicand subsequently acquired all shares from his mother. In 1983 he became Vice-President of FIATA, the International Association of Freight Forwarder Associations, and also acted as Secretary General for a period of 6 years.

To obtain the necessary financial resources for the development of its international organisation Dr.ErichMihokovic decided to sell the group to Speditions Holding GmbH in 2001.
