History

Wincanton was formerly a subsidiary of Uniq (formerly Unigate Plc), a diversified UK food and dairy product manufacturer but was de-merged in May 2001, and floated on the London Stock Exchange. In December 2002, it acquired P&O Trans European, which supported a change in strategic direction towards becoming a leading European logistics provider, as well as expanding its geographic reach and range of services.
