Brief Profile
GE Equipment Services was part of GE Industrial untill the fourth quarter of 2007, when it has been transferred to the Commercial Finance segment.
It is one of the six business units of the American conglomerate General Electric, a US$152bn global business with 327,000 employees worldwide. GE Equipment Services provides transport solutions, offering a range of equipment leasing, intelligence-based asset management and logistics services for manufacturers, retailers and shippers, with operations in America, Canada and across Europe. In North America the company has four operating companies:
- Penske Truck Leasing
- Rail Services
- Trailer Fleet Services
- Modular Space
Penske Truck Leasing, Trailer Fleet Services and Modular Space are headquartered in Pennsylvania. Rail Services is headquartered in Illinois.
In 2010 GE restructured, and the segment (GE Equipment Services) that previously operated under Commercial Finance, was no longer reported as a separate operating segment.
