Hub Group, Inc. was founded in 1971 and incorporated in 1995. It is an asset-light third party logistics provider (3PL) that offers intermodal, truck brokerage and logistics services.
Hub Group arranges the movement of freight in containers and trailers over long distances. It also has contracts with railroads to provide transportation over the long-haul portion of the shipment and with local trucking companies for pickup and delivery. As part of its intermodal services, Hub Group negotiates rail and drayage rates, electronically tracks shipments in transit, consolidates billing and handles claims on behalf of its customers.
It operates through two divisions, Hub and Mode, each segment offers intermodal, truck brokerage and logistics services.
