Brief Profile
Until recently ACR Logistics was known as Hays Logistics and part of Hays Plc, a UK-based provider of business support services. Following a strategic review undertaken between November 2002 and February 2003, Hays Plc took a decision to focus exclusively on the development of strong specialist recruitment and HR services business. The company disposed of its Commercial and Logistics divisions in 2003 and floated the mail division in 2004.
Hays Logistics was sold to US group Platinum Equity in November 2003. In October 2004 it was re-branded as ACR Logistics.
In 2004 ACR Logistics turnover was £825m (€1,188m). ACR Logistics is one of the largest contract logistics providers in the UK and Europe, ranking in the top three. It employs nearly 17,000 staff across 190 locations in Europe and USA and operates 3,750 vehicles and 3,200,000 sq m of warehouse space.
