Brief Profile
Agility is a Kuwait-based company engaged, along with its subsidiaries, in the provision of end-to-end supply chain solutions around the world.
It has made major acquisitions, which have included companies such as Trans-Link, Transoceanic and GeoLogistics. Through its subsidiary, Transoceanic Shipping Inc., United States, Agility provides project logistics solutions for the construction, mining, and oil and gas industries.
Agility is structured into 3 business groups:
- Agility Global Integrated Logistics (GIL), is headquartered in Switzerland and provides supply chain solutions to customers in technology, retail, chemicals, and other industries.
- Agility Defense & Government Services (DGS), based in Washington, offers logistics services to governments, relief agencies and international institutions worldwide
- Agility Infrastructure, is a group of companies that provide infrastructure support including real estate development, customs optimisation and airport ground handling. Its focus is on the emerging markets in Middle East, Africa and South Asia.
In 2009 Agility had revenues of KWD1.7bn.
History The company was established in 1979 by the government of Kuwait under the name The Public Warehousing Company (PWC), and was founded as a warehousing and property development company. In 1997 it was privatised and branded as PWC Logistics. After its privatisation, the company began to widen the scope of its services by offering value-added logistics solutions, however, warehousing remained the largest contributor of revenue until 2003.
