DPD Dynamic Parcel Distribution is the primary subsidiary and brand of GeoPost, the French post office's (La Poste) express division. Headquartered in Aschaffenburg, Germany, it operates an intra-European road express network.
La Poste claims that GeoPost is the second largest intra-European road express provider after Deutsche Post DHL. DPD primarily operates in the B2B (business-to-business) express market with its core business being parcels weighing up to 30 kg, though its B2C ( business-to-consumer) business is increasing in importance.
While GeoPost is represented by other subsidiaries and brands in France (Chronopost, Exapaq and Pickup) and Spain (Seur), its activity in the rest of Europe comes almost exclusively under the banner of DPD. Germany and the UK are DPD's most important markets. In addition, the company has a fast growing presence in Central and Eastern Europe, the Baltics and some CIS countries. In many of these countries, it is the market leader. For the financial year ended December 31, 2013, GeoPost's revenues were reported at €4.39bn. DPD's financial results are not disclosed, though the company would definitely repesent the majority of GeoPost's revenues.
