Brief Profile
Union Pacific Distribution Services (UPDS) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Union Pacific Railroad.
It specialises in the design and execution of rail-based logistics programmes, combining the economies of long-haul rail service with the flexibility of over the road movements.
UPDS utilise rail transportation services of all the major class one railroads integrated with equipment providers, motor carriers, terminal operators and warehouses to provide a multi-modal service.
UPCS is a specialised truck brokerage within UPDS. Its primary activities are to move container loads within commercial zones, provide ramp services in the US and arrange deliveries and pickups in Mexico.
In 2011, Union Pacific's revenues were $19.56bn.
