Brief Profile
Pacific International Lines (PIL) is the largest privately owned Singapore shipping line. Founded in 1967, PIL has grown from its relatively modest beginnings as a coastal shipping company, to become one of the largest shipowners in Asia.
PIL is the second largest user of the Port of Singapore with throughput exceeding 1.8m TEU annually. With approximately 104 owned and managed vessels, PIL operates regular services in the region from East Africa, the Middle East Gulf, the Indian Sub-Continent, South East Asia, the Far East, Japan, Korea, Australia and New Zealand, with Singapore as the hub. It has recently extended its services through to Europe & East Coast South America.
PIL has four major subsidiaries:
- Singamas Container Holdings, a container manufacturer, depot and terminal operator.
- PIL Logistics, a 3PL provider and freight forwarder.
- Advance Container Lines, a containership feeder service operator.
- Origen Logistics, a supply chain management provider.
